James A Taylor is a breakthrough Music Supervisor, renowned for his expertise in on-set music supervision and his ability to bring music to life at the heart of storytelling. Collaborating with some of the world’s most celebrated filmmakers, visionary directors, and acclaimed actors, James has shaped the sound and spirit of projects that have captivated audiences worldwide. Equally at home on a large-scale film set, on location, or in the recording studio, his work is defined by collaboration, creativity, and an instinct for crafting unforgettable musical moments.

Based in London, James began his career supervising and directing music for West End productions and international theatre. A classically trained pianist, conductor, and songwriter, he also holds the prestigious Tonmeister degree in sound recording and engineering, combining deep technical knowledge with a performer’s sensibility.

His film credits include some of the most ambitious and acclaimed musicals of recent years: Disney’s Aladdin, Danny Boyle’s Yesterday, Netflix’s Jingle Jangle, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, and Greatest Days featuring the music of Take That. James was Music Supervisor and Vocal Producer on Paul King’s Wonka starring Timothée Chalamet, earning a Guild of Music Supervisors Award nomination for his work.

Recent projects include Lee starring Kate Winslet, the psychological thriller Magpie with Daisy Ridley, and Brady Corbet’s Academy Award-winning The Brutalist.
